What to Do if You Suspect Your Neighbours of Drug Offences

Ask a Question
What to Do if You Suspect Your Neighbours of Drug Offences

Drug dealing rarely looks like television dramas. People involved often appear ordinary: professional dress, respectable addresses, decent cars. Drug problems exist everywhere, from expensive suburbs to quiet market towns and rural villages.

If you're concerned about drug activity next door and unsure how to proceed, you can get step by step guidance using our free Anti-Social Behaviour Action Plan.

Drug users come from every background: teachers, accountants, shop workers, retired people. This means dealing can happen anywhere there's demand, which is practically everywhere.

Why this matters to your community

Drug activity affects entire neighbourhoods. It leads to increased burglary, theft, and anti-social behaviour as users fund their habits. Properties used for dealing see more traffic, noise, and disturbances.

Areas with visible drug problems can see property values fall. Parents worry about children's safety, and elderly residents may feel unsafe. Early intervention works better than waiting until problems become entrenched: police can often address issues before they escalate, but they need information from local people.

Warning signs to watch for

A constant stream of visitors who only stay briefly can be a sign, especially at unusual times. These visitors may seem nervous or hurried, and might not fit the usual pattern of friends or family.

Brief exchanges near the property are worth noting: car parks, local parks, bus stops, or street corners can become meeting points. These encounters are typically quick, sometimes just a handshake or short conversation.

You might notice unusual amounts of cash, expensive items that seem out of place, or multiple mobile phones. Strong chemical smells, particularly sweet or acrid odours, could indicate drug production. Increased anti-social behaviour in the area might also be connected.

These signs don't automatically mean drug offences are taking place. There could be innocent explanations. Trust your instincts, but consider other possibilities.

Your situation may be slightly different. ask a question below ↓ and our editorial team will reply with our advice.

Gathering information safely

Keeping a record helps police assess the situation. Note dates, times, locations, and what you observed. Descriptions of people can be useful: approximate age, height, clothing, distinctive features.

Vehicle details are particularly valuable. Record registration numbers, make, model, colour, and any distinctive features. Write things down as soon as possible while details are fresh.

Never put yourself at risk. Only record what you can observe safely from your own property or public areas. Don't confront anyone or make it obvious you're watching.

How to report your concerns

Call the non-emergency number 101 for situations that aren't immediately dangerous. Many police forces now have online reporting tools for non-urgent matters. If you witness something urgent or threatening, call 999.

Explain clearly what you've observed and why it concerns you. Provide your records, but distinguish between what you've actually seen and what you think might be happening.

You can report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. This independent charity lets you pass on information without giving your name. They don't trace calls or ask for personal details.

Consider speaking to a local community support officer or neighbourhood watch group. Your local council may also help address anti-social behaviour linked to drug activity. Police are experienced in protecting the identity of people who provide information and treat reports confidentially.

You're not responsible for determining whether criminal activity is definitely taking place: that's for police to investigate. Your role is simply to report genuine concerns. Dedicated drug crime teams rely on information from the public, and your report might be the piece they need to take action.

@Gertrude Sorry to hear you're stuck in the middle of it again. For proof, keep a written log with dates, times and what you saw or smelt, and report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 rather than 101, as it bypasses local officers entirely. You can also report directly to the force's Professional Standards Department if you genuinely believe officers are involved. Your council's ASB team should be told too, in writing, so there's a paper trail they can't ignore.

I live in Cottingham and moved a few times because of neighbours harassing and putting drugs through.
This is the worse property been to for drug use and dealing every day and night from both sides in the middle of them both and getting it into our loft some how. Reported it but found that some of the officers also on drugs even while on duty. They drive pass out house with sirens for about 10 seconds and turn it off. This also happened at last house in Hull, UK.
They is more anti social behaviour and thieving in the area and I think will only get worse if not sorted . It's this majority who bringing the area down like everywhere these days. How can get proof on what the neighbours doing?

I live in Snyder,Tx and the police have dismissed all information I have given them. They state they cannot just go knock on their door for odor nuisance and that I need to go to the doctor because I may just be sensitive to whatever is in the air. I asked for police patrol and they sent the fire department to check the air for gas and I needed the police to use their dog’s nose. Ugh!

I have repeatedly reported to the police a white male with ginger hair & beard and an Alsatian dog to the police for suspected drug dealing activities. I have observed him delivering packets to cars and accepting money in return. He lives in the walnut tree, Walton park area of Milton Keynes. So far the only thing that the police have said is that they are going to be increasing their patrol in the area. In the meantime I have installed CCTV cameras and will pass on videos of this person to the police

I have issues with my neighbour. I thought after she had her baby, and had various attacks on "our" communal
building that her; "visitors" would stop coming in and that she would stop using her flat as a; "walk-in" business.

After 3 solid years of reporting license plates, giving descriptions of very frequent (and even late night)
visitors, the smell of weed, the 6 month old baby enduring drunk men coming in and out the flat;
you’d think that this would stop. The police do nothing. They have zero power. The council (who
are our landlords) cannot act until the police act; (Which will never happen) the council cannot evict
the young lady until she is; “convicted” - so I am living opposite a nightmare. My other neighbours
in the block are tight-lipped and refuse to get involved. So I’m the only one complaining and I just look
like a moaning neighbour. The young lady has verbally abused me many times and has told me to; “get an f….. life.” This young lady is a serious problem. But she must be seen as some; “special case” or
something as she is bulletproof. Nobody will cross her and tell her what she is doing is wrong.

I have tried everything you can think of. She is UNTOUCHABLE.

We have had neighbours move in a few months ago now and the heavy use of them using canibus especially last night 22 August 2023 has caused health issues with my wife of 61 & son of 25.
The windows have to be closed causing further health issues.
Reporting the heavy use of drug parties to the local police has had no effect, together with giving vehicle details of certain drug driving issues.
We have loved on Milton Keynes since 1991 at our address in Walnut Tree and never before had this problem, drug parties quite often carry on all night.
It seems that police are not interested with this heavy drug use problem.Pp

Almost 3 years ago, the mother moved in with my direct neighbour. Since then we experience stress and terror every day. She incites her son against us. They incite our neighbours against us. He threatens us if we just put our noses in our yard. Both smoke drugs 24/7 and spray extremely perfume. The garden hasn't been usable since she moved in. I can neither open the window for ventilation nor does my dog like to enter the garden. Our daughter suffers from insomnia. The said neighbou threatened us three times, wanted to jump over the fence and aggressively knocked on our door. We just kindly asked that he drive his van away in front of our entrance. His children run across our front yard and ride their bikes across the lawn. They insult our child and dog, both of which no longer enter the garden. I get malicious sayings thrown at my head in the garden. He threatens my husband with a beating if he touches the garden. The situation is now so tense that even the police were involved. However, they are not interested in the terror against us. The only thing they advise us is a door camera. However, the fact that this is 3 years of constant stress and that we are at the end of our nerves is of no interest to anyone here.
The landlord was involved several times and we experience pure cynicism here too. That would only be a neighbourhood dispute. The said neighbour already had an eviction lawsuit, which we kindly dropped again. Yes, we were honestly gullible.
The area is a new development. It took us a lot of effort to move into a new house and now we are trying to escape from hell. Our health is ruined. Financially we are ruined. An end to terror is not in sight.

Our street has been the subject of many police actions in the last two years after the houses were released. Drugs class 1 and B, cultivation of drugs, weapons, sexual assault, theft, fraud ect. All in front of small children. Triggered by a couple of crime families.

A few families have already moved away. I just want out of this nightmare.

I live above these neighbours and they intake in certain activities involving drugs(crack) they are always quite all day then when it’s time to sleep they suddenly wake up and think it’s okay to play music all night and bang around like crazy , the smell of burning metal is disgusting , they have a child to and he runs around the flat block at night unsupervised,

My neighbours smoke weed every day all day, passing around bongs to my other neighbours.. my house smells horrendous, I can't have my windows open and in this weather it's bad, I can't sit outside because of the smell, as I'm writing this the music is boom boom boom, I love music I'm not a prude just turn it down at 3, 4 am.

16 year old with mates about same age. Signs of class A dealing by him. Frequently in and out late at night. Use of bicycle taken out for short duration. A ruck sack seems to be being passed around between a few of them. Been going on for at least a year but ramped up recently with frequent visitors to the house which he shares with his mother and brother. I think they are users to. Recently amount of strange callers has increased just for short duration. Slang words for class A drugs are being used out. Being harassed by the family already. Probably trying to intimidate me into not reporting them. Have reported several times to police and other authorities. Nothing is being done and I am not being taken seriously. Most likely linked to county lines supplies
ProblemNeighbours Editor 17/05/2026 at 10:20 am
@Fred Sorry to hear you're stuck in this situation, Fred, it sounds really stressful. You can report drug use anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, they won't take your name and the neighbours won't know it came from you. It's also worth logging the smell and dates with your local council's environmental health team, as second hand cannabis smoke can be treated as a statutory nuisance. If you genuinely feel you're being targeted, please tell someone you trust, you shouldn't have to deal with this on your own.

There is a young drug dealer going round North Somerset selling skunkweed, heroin, cocaine, mdma, crack and more.
He mostly operates in Backwell, Cleeve, Claverham, Portishead, Pill and Clevedon.
He is covered in tattoos down to the fingers on both arms and drives a red Skoda Monte Carlo edition Fabia estate on a 68 plate.
Rumours around North Somerset are that he owns several cannabis grows.

I'm writing this in order to gain some perspective as I am at my whits' end. I live in a 3 story that was turned into 3 Apts. I reside in the middle. Basically, I'm the cream in the middle of a METH OREO. People above me smoke it whilst living in a place that's had no power for over a year is filled with trash and they haven't had jobs or paid rent in almost 3 yrs and they get visitations from the males child every weekend ( the childs birth giver honks the horn every Friday to dump her in that hell hole and then honks again Sunday night to pick her up. As if not entering the apartment absolves her of the knowledge that its not a safe space for a child. Now onto the People below me, unfortunately I am related to these ass hats who after almost a decade of sobriety decided it was a great idea to start shooting up again. Now this place has 2 adults without jobs, living off disability, food stamps, and for the last 2 years ME. I thought I was helping with bills and then I find out they haven't paid rent in over 2 years and still keep asking me for money, oh.and did I mention the almost 300lb 14yr old daughter that they have pulled our of school to allegedly homeschool. Homeschool= playing GTA and smoking weed and cigarettes all day while enjoying a balanced diet from the convenience store. I need to move and can't afford it.Why are there so many resources and housing options for people who made the conscious decision to put a needle of dope in their veins but for me and those inside my 4 walls, I get to go to work everyday on 3 hrs or less of sleep (methican Americans are far from quiet and considerate) I have to pay my bills and be a productive person. Local law enforcement and dhhs are a joke. They literally do nothing. I have photos of vehicle and license plates and the drama and stress just continues. I need to get away from this place as the stress is going to kill me. Where are the resources to help my household move. Oh, and did I mention that our landlord isn't an option as he actually believes that the 150lb weightloss and blackened stumps for teeth are from having cancer, and he doesn't even pressure them for rent. But let me get behind, and he is up my backside harassing me and threatening eviction. OK, sorry so long, but I needed to get this off my chest. my questions are as follows.. How do you get DCYF to investigate UNANNOUNCED AND ON THE WEEKEND? WHY CANT LAW ENFORCEMENT FORCE SOMEONE WHO IS USING IN THE PRESENCE OF THEIR CHILD BE DRUG TESTED? WHY WON'T THEY DRUG TEST A MINOR WHO IS CLEARLY SO OBESE SHES GETTING WINDED PUTTING ON HER SHOES? ARE THERE ANY RESOURCES TO HELP ME GET MY HOUSEHOLD AWAY FROM THIS NIGHTMARE? AND LAST QUESTION... IS IT HORRIBLE THAT I KEEP HOPING, BOTH ABOVE AND BELOW ME, THAT THEY GET A BAD BATCH AND OD? AGAIN sorry so long and thanks for reading.

My neighbour sells weed. I know this because he offered it to me too. He has people arriving every day, they go into his house and 1-2 minutes later they come out again. The entire street stinks of it since he moved here.

We called the police, they said they would not investigate.
Bonny 26/09/2021 at 2:05 am
I have for the past four years been the victim of hate crimes from my next door neighbour and her whole family. This we found was because when we moved in my two dogs were made very aware of someone constantly in a wooden wendy house in there garden at night. We have since found out after having to install cctv that the Wendy house thing is because of cocaine use which is why the hate crimes started so we would move. I have cctv with audio yet the police do nothing, I have given the dealers name and car reg, make model etc they do nothing, he meets the dealer in the street and is so cocky about it. They have managed to even make the police believe that because I have to take very strong pain killers with morphine on top that I am crazy. I maybe riddled with pain but one thing I'm not is crazy and certainly not stupid yet I was told to keep gathering evidence and believe me I now have plenty. I am however starting to believe that the reason the police will not do anything is because the new sergeant who started just over a year ago came to see me and he lied to my face so I had strong words with him and ever since I've been made to feel like the nasty thugs my neighbours are. You can't trust the police because they actually did tell my neighbour I mentioned about him and drugs which the police later told me this was the new approach to policing. Absolutely shocking and sad when innocent people are made to feel like the criminals.
Blue 14/06/2021 at 2:19 pm
@Tina: I would not call the police out on false pretences, as this would just make things a lot worse for the rest of us that really do have an issue with people stinking out our properties with illegal drugs. If your issue is still ongoing, you need to record the abuse. That is a hate crime, so you don't need any other excuse to call the police. But you do need evidence, otherwise the people doing it will deny it. Hope this helps.
Blue 14/06/2021 at 1:52 pm
I have this issue too. Smell of drugs coming into my property on a daily, and/or nightly basis. Life has been brought to a complete standstill because of this. Police do nothing, and housing association did the absolute minimum. Have taken this further, and will update on here, if I have any success. I think we need to start a campaign. Police are treating the victims as the perpetrators. This needs to STOP!
Truth 10/05/2021 at 12:48 pm
Yes it’s amazing the local corrupt cops haven’t arrested me as two years ago a sergeant threatened me with harassment of the begging alcoholic drug dealing drug addict. Now my health has crashed and the police and the landlord are adamant they have evidence of illegal drugs and that the tenant is as pure as the driven snow. I have every reason to believe because I have been told by someone who works for the housing association that she is a police informer and under police protection.
Only this year did a housing officer give the truth away by asking me “ but how do you know that? It’s data protection”.
Well there you go
I have asthma. Breathing difficulties. And now a cough but I don’t smoke. And usually that con and her chums are smoking in the early hours.

J 19/04/2021 at 1:48 am
Do not bother reporting you will get accused of harassment and receive threats of arrest for waisting police time.

From 2017 reported smells of cannabis within in fathers home had visits from police and threatened with arrest for waisting police time.

Neighbours sister came round in January 2019 and made a threat that her father or husband was going to assault me through my father.

Had further visits from police then on July 30th 2019 was walking up street after finishing work was assaulted by neighbours father rang police when got home told police changed name by deed poll in 4th August 2019 police officers from area team came again threatening to arrest for waisting police time.

Made a complaint to professional standards did not here any thing regarding assault was asked to go to police Station on the 28th August 2019 for a voluntary interview attended and felt police did not believe me.

Sometime in September 2019 police officer who was investigating the assault came to my home address said issuing me an adult community resolution order for assault for 12 months and stated neighbours father put a counter claim for assault when father and uncle present stated if I did not sign the order would arrest me for affray and may end up going to police station for second voluntary interview when looking at order got my name wrong and issued it in my previous name.

Made another complaint to professional standards and they apologised for this.

Neighbour made a malicious complaint and stated that she was frightened and harrased and wanted me thrown out of the house called my father's landlord and police tried getting me evicted.

Police came and was asking for letting agents details unofficially visited letting agent and tried making me homeless.

In March 2020 neighbour was doing house up out side when lock down just came in was removing paint from house and made mess in garden father went outside and asked neighbour to clean mess out of our garden neighbours boyfriend refused and stated you tried getting my child took off me.

Made further reports to smells of cannabis in home.

On the 23 of April 2020 police officers once again came to home address when I was at work demanded that me and father went to police station on the 29 of April 2020 father refused and was once again threatened of arrest if we did not attend when in interviews made a load of false allegations and did not here anything after that.

Was still getting smells of cannabis in home in May 2020 same police officers who was harassing me and father came to our home address tried issuing harassment warnings claiming were harassing neighbour with camera.

Other police officer sent email to letting agent issuing me and father harresment warning claiming harrased neighbour and whole street tried getting me and father evicted when letting agent contacted police officer.

Did not here nothing after making another complaint to professional standards and Iopc

We have a neighbour who openly deals drugs, the cars pull up outside his house, he goes out and you can hear what they say. He isnt bothered at all. Police dont seem to give a crap either. We want to sell our house but cant because of him. He smokes it himself and used to have kids in his house too. How we ever ended up living next to that I have no idea, and its us that have to move!!! Welcome to 21st century Britain

I just got a new neighbor who doesn't work but has purchased expensive furniture. Everytime they smoke weed it stinks up my apartment through the vents and causes headaches for me. They smoke weed and drink alcohol with children in the house. The landlord won't do anything as long as she pays her rent. She has a purple porch light that stays on unless she leaves. Sick of it
Tee 14/03/2021 at 3:29 am
We have a no subletting on our lease. Yet when the downstairs neighbor moved out, she sublet to her family members, who seem to be processing some kind of drugs in the place. I've complained to management about it....so far, they've done nothing. The fumes are causing to lose sleep and making us feel sick. We are elderly disabled. I've even reported this to the police....They came out once, but problem continues.

5 Allandale View Lincoln. There are cars and people going round constantly. Lee and Molly are the dealers names. Keep intimidating and invading the privacy of other neighbours by gathering up and looking into windows and gardens. Clear and obvious signs of drug dealing and usage going on there.
Tina 24/01/2021 at 8:30 pm
Hi
So I have been having on going issues with a neighbour of mine. Harassment is one of the issues. I live with my partner who is the same gender as myself (female). My partner and I are targeted by these neighbours I think because we are gay they don’t harass any of my other neighbours just us.

They are always watching the pair of us when we leave for work and when we come back they know the exact times we come and go. They often shout abuse at us.

One of the neighbours has been charged for stalking my partner to her work which is in Edinburgh 26miles away from our house.

May I add this was at the beginning of the covid situation when no one was meant to go out unless it was for work. The neighbour had no reason to be there and got officially charged for this.

So I guess my point is I want to catch these neighbours out. I want to pretend something is a illegal drug and see if they call the police to prove that they are always watching us. Is this illegal to do pretending something is a drug to catch them out.

We have spoken to the police numerous times and we aren’t believed. We do have cctv which is pointing towards my house which does show there windows that they look at my partner and I from it doesn’t show in there property but you can make out the person standing there and when they opened them to shout abuse at us. We use this camera to make sure our decking lights are on for when we come home as we always come home in the dark.

Would really appreciate some help with this we just want it to be stopped at for us to be heard.

Hi, We meet for the first time with such a problem. Unfortunately, we didn't get the best neighbors. Our neighbors use and sell drugs every day from early morning until late at night. Since we have video cameras everywhere, they began to behave aggressively towards us. We have called the police more than 6 times already, but unfortunately the police are not doing anything, we no longer know where else we can turn to see the result. We are already tired, every day party in the yard and different companies all the time, depending on the lockdown. They have a child, but even that does not stop them from doing terrible things. Where can we turn to change something? Thank you
Prof 06/01/2021 at 12:43 am
Cannabis farm next door for ages, the house was bought 3 years ago but nobody lives there just a place to store their drugs (other than Cannabis) and money I guess.
They regularly fly tipping so we put up cctv camera signs, now they do it all at the back. Reported it to crime stoppers, they openly bring equipment and drugs in and out in the afternoon in full view. Took photos sent to police...nothing..Nadal.. zilch! The police did come one time and I thought they'd deal with it, no! Maybe they should just make an appointment or bake them a cake for all the effort they put into 'fighting crime'
When you see 'drug dealers captured'reported on the news, I often wonder how they managed to actually get off they're arses to do something. Or how long it took....years??
They come an go all night, have them on film openly doing it. Are the police interested? They couldn't give a monkey's chuff! Seriously considering getting some signs made with "give way to oncoming drugs dealers" like those residents of that street in London did. Shame the police into action. "Drug dealers only" "reserved parking for drug dealers" "get your drugs here"
It's a joke. The longer it's gone on, the larger and newer their cars become, it wouldn't surprise me if they bought the house cash, as, who can afford to buy a 140 grand house and leave it empty, pretending they live there!

I can relate to the the above comments since 2015 iv been reporting my nieghbours for suspected drug cultivation and distribution the running of equipment including a generator has disturbed my life so much I'm unable to function on a day to day basis through sleep deprivation and the turture of machanical vibrations and unusual frequencies invading in my home which had been picked up on EH monitoring equipment as an idling deasel generator..the council has denied any wrong doing and has treated me with absolute arrogance and rudeness.. the police say my info is down as an information report and in the mean time 6 years ongoing I have some evidence they are venting something other than flue gas emmisions and I dont know how or who to show this video to as no one seems interested whilst this poses a serious health and safety hazzard ..Liskeard Cornwall

There are Polish drug dealers opposite the Police station near me.
The man is threatening and violent and often drives one of his two cars a Vauxhall and a SEAT around Nailsea, where we live, going round in circles for hours on end, dropping off drugs to the kids in the bus stop and driving round the town doing drop-offs and deals as late as 4am.
I have seen him selling drugs to the youths in the skate park and also the Millenium park near Tesco.
I once saw him punch one of these youths in a hoodie in the face over a payment dispuute and the kid fell to the ground and started screaming in pain.
The man is tall, bald, ugly and has sticking out ears and sometimes a beard, he also smells of BO and fried, fatty food and looks like he doesn't wash.
If you see this man avoid him at all costs, he is very dangerous.

Schlessman couple have been manufacturing methamphetamine for years on a daily basis and the cops know all about it and I think they are on the take. The schlessmans live in Barry, Texas. They had gas cylinders, dogs, cats, drawn curtains in the days and dumped sludge every day. Made 10 trips a day at less that 5 mins each, harrassed their neighbors to f..ck, had a police friend and caused mayhem as Meth heads for years.
Navarro County Police would not arrest them, no matter what. All because of a police buddy. So whenever you get no joy with a drugs arrest, always suspect your police officers.

Had an incident reported neighbour anonymously through crime stoppers because neighbour was drink driving and smoking and growing cannabis the neighbours sister came round to my fathers property threatening me and my father I got assaulted by the neighbours father and a witness came forward in favour of me and police ignored it I was issued an adult community resolution for assault I told police I changed my name by deed poll and they issued the order in the wrong name and threatened if I did not sign it I would have to go for a second interview and may get arrested for affray the neighbour stated to police that she was a single parent when she has lived with her partner at the address for more than ten years. Police also mentioned this when coming to our home police were threatening me and my father if we did not stop reporting smell of cannabis they were going to seize our computers they issued me and my father an harassment warning letter also sent one to my fathers landlord and letting agent stating we had harassed the whole street police were also trying to get me and my father evicted.

They are currently causing an issue with a surround sound system trying to keep us awake my father went round to have a polite word with the boyfriend and the female started shouting at my father she stated she was in her property on her own and then her mother came out also shouting at my father I called the police they went round to other neighbours to see if they witnessed anything the neighbour told police that I barged passed my father and went outside to go and hit her when I was still in my home police came once again threatening if we did not go for a voluntary interview they were going to arrest us my father made police arrest him and he was released without charge the tried to do him for public order.

Police also tried doing me for threatening behaviour I was released without charge

1 week after my father's windscreen on his vehicle was broken no other vehicles on the street were damaged only my father's car and police said because there is no witnesses we cannot do anything we have the brick that was used but police did not come to collect it or see my father.

Reported police actions to professional standards and Iopc they stated we apologize in not resolving your neighbour dispute an inspector and area team officer will be visiting your property supervised by the inspector and no one has been nowhere near yet.

The neighbour is still smoking or growing cannabis and don't know what to do with police threatening me or my father.

I have lived next to a drug dealer since 2012. Cars by the minute, people day and night sitting in the front garden. My house smelling of cannabis. They have been raided twice ut the police cant catch them . She is too clever for them . Evicted from next street put here by a private landlord. Ex drug dealer. In 2018 a druggy came to my door that was the last straw. I told police and a Special rang and asked for car regs over the yrs. Over night this was stopped. Now however we have a machine going from midnight to noon. It's going now. Iknow where the drugs are taken. All the police say is how do you know its drugs. After the last raid 2 police came to my door and said I dont need to get in touch with them anymore. Could swear they are iffy. Also had united Utilities knocking at my door because they never answer their door. He said the water was going off the scale. The paper dont want to know. The police say it's a council issue. The council have put 2 monitors in mine but it goes quiet. Found out they have to tell them. It's ridiculous. It put my dad in his grave and it's making my mum and me ill. What can we do? I have been down every Avenue. I was told by neighbours friend they had enough money to buy the house but they ponce of the government. I'm writing a book about it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

.. I have moved twice in last five years since the introduction of online designer vaping and cannabinoid drugs.
I’m horrified there are no effective police procedures to control this serious infringement of neighbour’s rights to breathe clean non toxic air, or to prevent continuous sleep disruption when drugs are constantly used through the.night.
The perpetrators become inhuman, with respect only for their drug habit.

The local police have the nerve to ask me if I have thought of moving..... again??? This truly is a nightmare on Main Street.... when are they going to get their act together and support the victims, not the dealers and junkies...? Any ideas anyone?
V.Annoyed 15/08/2020 at 8:34 am
My family and I have had to put up with neighbours smoking, buying and dealing weed (and other things). They binge on it all day long. Two grown men in their thirties, still living with mum and dad (who do nothing about their sons' habits). Nobody on the estate likes them, they have been reported so many times, and the police do nothing.
Every time they get reported they blame us, because one time my wife dared to say something to their mother.
Typical mini gangsters... gold chains, aggressive dog, vandalism, criminal damage, threats of violence (even to our children). Such lovely people.
My kids have had to grow up living with the stench of weed courtesy of our neighbours. To the poster who said to get a grip and stfu... I can make sure my kids avoid the drunks, avoid the barely dressed women, avoid the vomit filled taxies. They can't avoid the man-babies that live next door, and their constant need to fuel their habit.

Keep reporting and where possible get neighbours and friends to report, the more reports they get the higher priority, I have been reporting for a year and just getting somewhere after 3 days of 10 hour weed binges stinking my house out, the fact the same address was reported 3 days in a row had led to them calling me back and asking questions. They are going to send a PCSO to witness and then the police can get involved, it takes a community.

I am staying with a friend in a housing association due to Covid-19 shielding, a few months ago a young gentleman moved into a flat opposite, now there is footfall every 15 minutes or so 24/7 with a break mid-morning, there are doors slamming and people talking and laughing, the communal locked door is wedged open all night. The noisy people coming and going make quality sleep impossible, the police have called round to him a few times, but they are friendy and casual with him, nothing is ever done! He seems without any worry and is happy and gets peace and quiet when he wants it, all the other flat tenants don't say anything but have applied to move, they are scared, and know the Leicetershire police are useless

I believe my neighbor accross the street is selling marijuana. His crop he grows behind his home must of been harvested because he leaves his home about 15 to 20 times a day in his truck and sometimes his mothers car to make his sales. And there are cars that come to his home I've never seen before. His address is 10609 E. Empire Spokane Valley Washington. I know he is a felon too.
UnhappyChappy 11/08/2020 at 3:42 pm
I contacted cab because of the two flats under me (I'm top floor) causing an awful stink. I know they're doing drugs. I've even found little bits of white rock on the stairway.
I'm constantly being stunk out with the smell like burning rubber and chemical smells.
It clings to skin and clothing and no amount of air fresheners and plugins cover it.
I tried talking with one of the neighbours but he just acted puzzled to what I was saying, denied any drug taking or dealing and the smell continues.
Thought I'd get help from this link but it seems, as is in my case too, the police just do nothing.
I tried reporting it in April and nothing has happened.
It'd probably be different if one of them was suffering because of uncaring unsociable drug users.
At a loss in what to do.
Mirror Man 06/08/2020 at 10:00 am
Dr Seb and J clearly have little empathy or in Dr seb's case not much of an education.

Drug dealing at any level has a detrimental and degrading effect on the environment and neighbourhood. This builds up with all sorts of low lifes hanging around causing aggravation and intimidation. Vehicles visit the properties in the early hours, often uninsured, untaxed and with no MOT. The resentment from neighbours expressed here is because these scum don't have jobs, take benefits paid for by their neighbours who work. Even if cannabis were legalised these scum would still thieve and be a social menace.

Leicester police are a joke when it comes to this stuff.

Crack cooking and dealing neighbours on the street. They've been reported numerous times, police have raided once. They got let off.

Crack dealing continues, he threatens the neighbours with violence if anyone reports him.

Whole street is terrified, some of us report anonymously through crime stoppers for fear of being attacked, police have given up trying to solve this issue.

Continue reporting the drug dealing and violence, nothing anymore. Destined to live locked up on my house, afraid to leave my own front door.

Thanks Leicester police.
No Hope 21/07/2020 at 10:38 am
Where I live the owner of the house is a habitual smoker and was a dealer until he was arrested and imprisoned in 2010 for stabbing somebody 7 times. He let out the house to pay his mortgage and then threw out some tenants and said he was moving back. Not ideal but nothing I could do to stop him. He put up a sophisticated security system and then didn't move in but a young couple did. The smell of cannabis coming through the walls was dreadful the moment she had her first child. He was dealing and always had a brand new car - Mercedes, BMW, Audi - never worked. They were cheating the benefits system as she claimed to live alone. Then the owner converted the garage and moved in and as he is a heavy smoker the smell was even worse coming through the walls. Lots of people have reported the drug dealing due to the taxis constantly coming but it seemed to have gone away. Then the police found out the male tenant had a second property which they raided and found piles of cash (now confiscated) at. He is still walking around as if nothing has happened and they have returned his latest Mercedes to him. I have decided against involving the police as I am a single parent and don't want the violence but they always assume it is me who calls the police and the abuse I get is horrendous. I am going to ignore any further incidences and sell up and move away from the street - if the police are not going to deal with it after 3 years then they never will. Just feel sorry for those decent people left behind. Sadly Bedfordshire Police are just not dealing with them.

Listen the police have much better things to be getting on with , resources are stretched as it is and all you lot can do is complain of a few people smoking cannabis , get a grip , I have to listen to drunk people on their way back from clubs , women wearing next to nothing , broken heals , vomit smelling taxies you name it , men fighting over a kebabs ! , I can’t find anything more self degrading than drunk tosser in the street every single weekend , well from Thursday usually !!

And listen the real threat to our societies and young generations are that of crack cocaine let me tell you !! Decriminalisation of cannabis , crack down on large scale operations sure , but focus the bill on stopping disgusting gangs throwing out crack like smarties !

Now please do get a grip and stfu

Police are a waste of time in London and don't take drug issues seriously. Even though illegal substances police do nothing about drug smoking and others just have to put up with it. Noticed a lot more drug smells in my area since lockdown. Mental health has been a big issue for years imagine now with people having been sent to their rooms and had their toys taken off them for several months!

Council ASBO woman thinks it's a ' personality clash' and it should be taken to a mediator! Looking the other way.
Same with the police, you learn you're you g to get no help, so, decent folk are now moving out.
Now this pretty little market town has few shops of any quality and recently the news stated that it's biggest industry is now weed and coke. The council and police have made it so, by looking the other way .
Folk need to grow a backbone.

Hi my mum has recently bought a new build flat as she is disabled and cant use the stairs much everything seemed okay until xmas eve when a woman turned up at the neighbours flat smashing the place up and screaming I'm going to kill you etc my mum was petrified and even sent me a voice note of the screaming and it went on for nearly 2 hours
Everything was fine until tonight where she said a man had turned up this time screaming he was going to kick her f***ing door down and plenty of other things the site manager has told my mum this woman is involved with drugs and to keep herself to herself which she does anyway and her son always smoked weed downstairs in the rubbish unit
She is too scared to obviously approach them or even phone the police what can we do??

I have a neighbour across the hall who is selling . The ' boo ' arrives on a Thursday and Paul starts dealing as soon as his dealer is gone . The evening is pitted with doors from our mutual door entry system being open and closed every fifteen minutes . It's invasive and a pain in the arse . Paul was ill for a long time with a life threatening disease and I was reluctant to indict him but he obviously doesn't give a rat's arse about HIS neighbours . Last night the front door was wide open so now that's it . He's crossed the line .

My neighbors are smoking what smells like burning chemicals and plastic. It could be meth or heroin. Actual, dangerous drugs. Everything I look up online only says to report dealers. I don't know who to call about users. They regularly have the same visitors, but i dont know which one is their dealer.

I dont want to ring police but would love for the police to turn up to their property. I know for a fact they would know it was me that report them. I don't care to be honest just im scared to talk with police. I shout that the smell is disgusting so they hear me. I know for a fact they smoke it and drive round with their young kids in cars. I have lived next to my drug dealing neighbours for 2 years, at first they kept themselves to themselves and they were ok, I ignored the stink of weed on an evening, they were quite open about the fact they indulged themselves and said if it bothered me then to let them know, I didn’t I just kept the windows closed even in summer just for a quiet life,
They alway have people coming and going who only stay for 10 -15 minutes,
Their house has brand new stuff
New carpets brand new appliances
He has temper problems he throws things slams doors in the middle of the night sounds like he’s pushing wardrobes down the stairs then storms out and
Revs engine on car like it’s formula one racing car
She has mental issues schizophrenia and changed her medication and starts shouting stuff in the street
My eldest daughters new boyfriend says some people at his work buy drugs from these people and have even done some investigation of his own and can tell us what they charge so what we have suspected for so long is true,
We are now getting reg plates and keeping notes to give in to police

I reported my neighbours to the police about they selling drugs. The police came and searched their house but got nothing. But the police never asked for the information of where they store the drugs they buy old vehicles and store the drugs not in the house they keep them.
I was so disappointed with this because they got nothing. These people are always a step ahead of the police.

Reading so many people story make me understand I am not alone in my horrible every day life living next to drugh dealers.
I have reported endless time to the police my suspect, what I am suffering with smells and noise that comes from next door. As many of you did happen, police say that there are no evidence and accuse myself of been paranoid.
Neighboor got violent with me and harass me implying all sort of noise like birds, airplane, traffic although I live off road, dogs barking, fire alarm going on and off continueselly, police sirens and endless other annoying noise.
Try to pay attention, many noise seem natural but are not.
They have listening device trough wall listening at all time what I do. That's also the reason why in many cases I have called the police or other witnes and Just before they were arriving all noise was stopping.
Make sure this is not happening to some of you reading.

Living in so called social housing for twenty two years on the 17 March. For twenty years a bullying neighbour and her cocaine dealing daughter have been harassing me some of the time for money at my door. But the last nine years another neighbour also well known to the police who is a skid row alcoholic and taking a lot of drugs has been persistently begging at my door for money and in the street in the area. I have complained to the landlord and to the police. This neighbour has also organised a friend of hers who doesn’t live here beg for money at my door February 2019 reading of alcohol money with menaces and a sob story.
As for the landlord and the ASB officer I was advised most recently to be mindful and cautioned with the warning of a warning letter since the little predatory parasite had got herself a support worker who had written to accuse me of harassing her because I am complaining of the vile stench of the skunk and whatever she and her bullying visitors are smoking. I was told to shut up.
The smell of the drug makes me feel sick.
The ASB officer shamelessly admitted that a lot of their tenants are taking drugs.
I have been to my MP and wait for letters to be written. A policeman advised me that following a warning the anti social behaviour stops for two weeks and starts up again. Imagine what it’s like here in the summer.
The truth is I am the one that’s vulnerable.
If a neighbour comes to your door begging for money ‘for gas’ don’t give it to them.
When you stop the malevolence really shows itself for what it is.

There's a drug den in my area... and nobody cares. Why don't the council do anything about it? "The council are aware!"

Person is doing and selling drugs to all the druggies in the area, the monster left their door open and just up and left, people went in and stole everything in the house, literally everything, even the pipes and floors... it is a flooded house now, and nobody cares.

Area - full of robbers, drug addicts and creeps, and people with mental problems.

I have an Harassment Notice on me for making 30 calls to Hampshire Police for the heavy, heady, choking, pungent drug fumes which are filtering into my bedroom and work space which once required paramedics out. The Police only came out to gain evidence once but three hours after I had phoned. I cannot stand the fumes. They make me ill and cause anaphylactic type symptoms and terrible ear, nose and throat problems. One police officer refused in a VERY malevolent tone to come and gain evidence. The man from the same household was overheard saying: "I hope someone blows their place up" to another neighbour but when we told the police this, one officer said: "It was just a flippant remark and he did not mean anything by it". Our police force is covering up for our neighbours drug use. They are complicit with my suffering. I cannot get the smell of their retched fumes out of my nostrils and my nausea is off the scale. It also makes me feel starving hungry.

By all the comments iv read above I find it unbelievable that so many people are out their with the very same hellish situation I have been tollerating since 2015 suspected drug dealing and cultivation next door nieghbours they also supply illegal tobacco or baccy as they refare to! I hear the heavy duty pumps/fans go on around 11.30pm then all night heavy duty and wierd buzzing vibrations which stop you from relaxing ..then there is the house makeshift renovation..the council hear in east Cornwall have done nothing but tell me to put up shut up or move out by downsizing it's a joke being a decent citizen these days iv kept records iv passed on information and I am left to wonder why I ever bothered doing the right course of action! My heart goes out to anyone who has to put up with living next door to drug dealers and their illicit cultivation

I have had neighbours who were evicted and put next to me and parents for 8 yrs. 8 yrs of hell. A police lady has had the cars stopped only last year. The tenants have a private landlord as they were thrown out of a housing society. The landlord said Its only you who has to put up with them. We had cars by the dozen they said it was kids dads paying football subs ?? Smells od cannabis. A buzz that went of if we moved from room to room or went in front or back garden. People lieing in the rd of their head. People in front garden all hours of day night. Put my dad in his grave and 2 other neighbours. Mediator seen all the 7 diaries. Said they can do what they want on own property? She even walks down rd behind me when my mate goes for a taxi. Stand in the dark when i come home with shopping . Sits under umbrella in all weathers. Maybe we should all form our own vigilanty group.

I feel sorry for the “red whale “ comment below as I’m in similar position I live in a semi detached housing association house and had this damn buzzing noise and sometimes the smell of weed for the last 2 years but because I’m very private and quiet and live alone (no witnesses) they think they can do what they want with buzzing noise, it gets turned down if I have visitors they have cameras front and back, I complained and it took 3/4 months for anyone to get access come that time they probably cleaned up and started again once heat was off them and now the housing association dont seem interested when I tried to tell them it’s still there they said it was investigated and they found nothing sooooooo a total waste of time , I’ve tried confronting him (the tenant) and he says can’t hear nothing ?? He would have to be Stone deaf if he’s innocent why not help me to find out what the buzzing is?! No he’s just defensive , such a waste of time and I’m stuck with this noise like an industrial fan through the night which is also risky as nobody there at night it could catch fire ,potentially, he supposedly works but I feel there just using the house to grow weed , I don’t know whether to wait for damp to come through the walls or keep using my brain to try and find another way , very difficult to sleep sometimes but their getting away with this and very hard to get the help I need .

the police don't care if you have proof, I've got footage of deals going down and people going into the bushes outside our homes and collecting bags. I offered to give the police footage on a flash drive which is as clear as a bell, you can recognise the druggies and I've even seen them in town. They didn't want it they said they would call and look at it incase an officer recognised them. Doesn't make sense, but they didn't call. Kept getting calls saying they would come but they never did. Still have the footage but they aren't interested. The Police said that people can get over enthusiastic when they have CCTV, I was trying to help them catch dealers! The dealers and druggies know the police don't care and that's why it continues. Its up to us all to try and keep our neighbourhoods clear. Police are a thing of the past.

I have two in my complex; both people are living with elderly tenants; one young man is is not to live here (a senior complex that one has to be over 55; this man is in his twenties). the other one just comes out and she buys or sells drugs 4 or more times a day. The superintendent sees it and others have reported it, but nothing gets done. The rental complex is doing nothing. Police were called on the younger man, but now he is sneaking in at night; he says he has no where to go; kicked out of 4 rehab centers---BUT he owns a Merdedes Benz 2011 four door car!!! Hopefully I will get help soon. Otherwise many of us will move out.

I live in a house share and one Tennant who is 22 has his mates around 24/7.there smoking weed and blasting music 24/7.ive asked them god knows how many times to stop with the music because I get up for work at 5 every morning. But they don't listen. The lad delivers beers, wines and spirits for a company. I've heard him and his mates talking about using one of the vans that hasn't got a tracker on so they can Rob stuff and sell it on. Also with him smoking weed all the time he is driving under the influence constantly he's not safe to be on the road. I'm sure he was dropped on his head as a baby because no matter how many times I ask him to stop he carries on doing what he's doing. I'm coming to the end of my tether now and it's going to get to a point where I snap and do something. He's so disrespectful of others and this lad needs to be taught a lesson. He is making my life hell and my health is getting worse because of him.

Been down the route of getting housing society involed and police done all the noise logs and numberplate taken when possible all info was passed on . They have so many visitors every day and coming up weekends they turn up early hours of morning it's not just the drug dealing it all the noise of cars arguments doors slamming and loud music for hours on end. Police aren't interested don't have resources we were told when I called them out one night to a argument out front with the dealer and some men that turned up the dealer was armed with police style baton. I just had enough and went out and told the lot of them to sod of. Ended up being threatened .police did nothing. Same with our housing. I now just hope to be able to move on a swap but had problems there when new tennents find out who lives next door. Can't take no more we just want a Peace and in need of some decent sleep .i not willing any more to do lolg sheets or anything else cause housing socierty have let us down so have the police.

My neighbour is vulnerable due to his mental health status. He appears to be suffering from a brain injury but tells everyone he has 'epilepsy'. His shouting, angry rages, manic and throwing himself around behaviours are partly caused by his regular drugs use. His address is rented yet he is being used as a safe/storage house for illegal items. He is seen to be regularly dealing and buying drugs. He does not work (so my hard earned tax payments are helping to pay for this existence!).
His choices to get involved in this seedy world have placed him frequently under threat from the dealers above him. Also, it attracts all kinds of shady characters into our other than him, fairly smart residential area. I have worked solidly for the past 35 years to be able to afford to live here.
All these concerns have been reported to the local police. Guess what......they have done nothing!

I lived next door with drug dealer in Nelson Lancs. Reported many times. Police said there is no proof. Well, it is their job to prove it, but they expect people do it for them. I don't live anymore there, but today passed that street and noticed the drugger came out ofcthe house and went inside a car that was behind the corner. I passed near and felt a horribble skunk smell coming out of there. When will police start watching him? I hugely suspect he grows cannabis in the house.

You'll be lucky if anything is done to get rid of drug dealers. Even if you report it nothing ever gets done. A man who moved in our area last year was no problem, it later turned out he was a druggie and has brought several bad seeds around our area. They just keep coming, and they carry knives and damage everything in their path. It's horrible. There's nothing you can do. A few people are leaving the area, I think that is the only solution when you have scum coming to your area, specially when they don't live there. If only there was a way to keep people like that out. But the cows around our area let them in when they buzz the buzzer.

I have drug dealers living in my street now for nearly two years. I have supplied loads of information to the Police i.e descriptions of people coming and going, loads of different car registration numbers, but they have done nothing. The drug dealers are living in a private let, the Landlord is a drug dealer/gangster, thats why he allowed them to move in so they could sell the drugs. I have reported them to the Council landlord team, but they have done nothing.

There cars have already been set on fire due to a feud with various gangs. I dont know what else to do.

I have a neighbour who lives down stairs who is dealing heroin and I want to report him for it as I'm terrified. I have severe anxiety and agoraphobia and barely go out anymore. My husband always locks the door even if he's just going to the shop down the road as we've had junkies try and walk in our house before. We live in a four flat block and they always ring our buzzer because they're so high they forgot where he lives. I'm not sleeping properly either as the door goes at all times of the day and is very loud as it echoes in the hall. I do keep a detailed report of what's happening and have reported him on multiple occasions for animal abuse as he has an Alaskan malamute that he abuses which acts as a guard dog. I've phoned the police on him because there was one time he stabbed someone through the letterbox and there was blood in the entryway but they haven't done a thing. I hate living here as my every move is watched. Every time I enter or exit the building he is watching me. His dog has also tried to attack me before and even though it's only a year old it's massive. I'm so scared and have reported him to the police and council but he is crafty and apparently has more flat he deals in so if he sees someone he doesn't like the look of he goes out the back window to somewhere else. What do I do? I'm not scared of him as he's a coward but I know the dog would tear me to shreds if he found out I reported him. Please help me.

Oh and for the record, anyone else who finds themselves facing high end criminal activity, as, mine obviously was/is I would be very weary of reporting them, in future. After being bundled into a the back of a car and robbed repeatedly for trying to defend my family and after reading that they only face a few years in jail, even if caught, who ever said crime doesn't pay, obviously hasn't come across people operating at this high a level.
And to my young girls wherever you are, I hope your safe now and I hope you are better protected than I could provide you, which unfortunately probably isn't the case, I don't believe anyone would go to them extremes if they intended to let us live our lives in peace, as I say I don't believe that this is low level crime, because basically its too well organised and far to consistent to be coincidence, I suspect I`ve actually caused someone with a lot of power problems for this extreme reaction, from multiple sources, was it worth me reporting, basically not, because, the results from my perspective are definitely not worth it, but, I guess that's why they have reacted the way they have in order to discourage whistle blowers, to set an example and in order to keep control over their dodgy dealings. Another reason I know its high end, there is, undeniable signs of police complicity, just like hillsborough and jimmy saville, recently someone has sent me pictures via facebook of my girls, who are now 8 and 10, with massive facial injuries, which is another indicator of high end activity, as they have even gone to the trouble, of setting up a facebook account to send them from and quite frankly, I now have no trust in the local law enforcement. When I tried to report the pictures to the local police station, the police woman on the desk didn't even take them seriously and seemed more concerned with asking if I was schizophrenic than doing her job, so now im seriously thinking of going to the independent police complaints commission.
HadEnough 05/12/2016 at 7:53 am
absolutely nothing.

Further more, I have linked this guy and his associates, to multiple acts of drug activity and robberies in the local city, by way of his associates and after I was bundled into a car boot with my ex and kids after I tried to report them and following being spiked with drugs myself, which I suspect was probably GHB from the symptoms I displayed, which is another issue, what kind of idiot spikes a parent with GHB, when they are looking after young children.

Very reluctantly I am now beginning to feel that I will get no closure on this, which was initially why I ended up attacking him myself. Essentially it was for my kids, which he thought he had got away with.

I can tell you all something about my experience. I had a neighbor dealing drugs in the parking lot of my apartment complex. It was obvious to everyone. He would go out at night, blare his rap music in his car, and occasionally he would turn it off long enough to pass something to people that came to him from the street at random. It was like he was using the whole rap music thing as a sign he was "open". Well, long story short, we (me and other tenants) contacted the narcs anonymously. Within a week, not only was he locked up, but the police were able to bust the largest ring of heroin dealers in the history of my state. My advice: Report it! Send these low life pieces of absolute filth to jail where they belong.

We live in a street with a couple. They have made nearly all residence life hell. The guy is on coke and sits up drinking all night. Goes to work at 5.30 am and drives for a living, so it has to be in his system still. Not sure how long it will be before he kills someone. The girlfriend doesnt work, yet top of the range cars on their drive and a garage on the estate empty??? Some say it has drugs in there. She plays on a disability has a blue badge yet many of the neighbours are yet to fathom why she claims. Walking sticks appear for the rent officer and when mobility take her second car for a service.
Many would say good luck to the fiddle however the couple are bullies verbally attacking everyone one way or another and plays heavily on ponsing. They have sued and claimed against anything an everything. From council work to private builders. Deliberately falling over on a holiday to claim for a return trip - sadly it worked.
Kids, social took the first lot and now sadly it's a matter of time for the new child to go. We are now getting a steady flow of dealers in the road and at the local park where she leaves the child late at night to go and collect as the partner is not sober enough to go..
There are kids in our road and we do not want to entice dealers into our street. What can we do?

I live in an upper villa and my neighbour underneath is growing canabis plant(s) under my little ones bedroom. Scumbag!! He is in his fifties so knows right from wrong - or should do. Has a job for the council - yes... It gets better drives a bmw and holidays 2-3 times a year - em wonder what he's doing with the grass. I have put a letter through his door, I have confronted him and also had the police out regarding this PRICK.
not much the police can do long process, meanwhile I can't let my little one sleep in the room? What happened to kick there f@@@ing door in arrest and charge. I feel like the person doing wrong for reporting this.

What should I do? Please help.

I have consistently reported my neighbour who took the house off my old neighbour who had got involved with drugs from him. It was a small quiet estate not now. The scumbag has already served 3 yes previously for drug dealing. I kept records of all the "visitors" sometimes 20 in a day!! Police told and then crimestoppers. He was raided 14 mths ago and went to crown court for plea & trial preperatio in dec. Heard he was in court in may but on checking found his case has been rescheduled but don't know when to. In the meantime he is still conducting his "business " even to the point of getting new 4x4 as well as having 2 holidays!!! I am getting fed up of him his wife and the other lowlife who think they own the road n the estate and carry on without the police doing anything despite my information

My son is now living in a trailer that I gave him. The people next door have been there for one year and they have been causing all kinds of trouble. But the main thing is my son has seen them leaving at 8-9 in the morning and gone for about 1 hr and half then come back. Then they leave again in afternoon around 1-2 and gone for 1 hr and half. Then they leave again at night around 12:00 midnight gone for about 1hr and half. This goes on every day 7 days a week. Son has bad feeling they are dealing or buying drugs. He will not call police because they say my son is harassing them. What is he to do. Please help.

I am a female living on her own for 11 years. The neighbouring property is now rented every 6 months to new tenants which I have always got along with. However a couple have moved in and they now use their back door. The owners have built wooden steps up to my gate and they now use this instead of their front door. I only have one door overlooking these steps and they park their two cars outside my house and have blocked the road several times with their inconsiderate parking. I have tried to politely ask them to move their cars to allow me to park outside my house to no avail. My question is can the wooden steps be removed? It infringes my private life and they now come and go outside my front window. The parking is the main issue but there's not a lot I can do about that. Do the owners need to consult me prior to putting up the steps? Is there anything I can do?

ProblemNeighbours Editor 08/10/2015 at 9:31 am
If there are constant visitors making noise into the early hours of the morning, then environmental health department of your local council should be able to help. The police should also be able to help with the dealing problem. Try them again, if you are unhappy with the response it might be worth asking your local MP for assistance in getting something done.

People say a young boy was dealing but I don't care about that what is strange was his crazy mama and her crazy friends and their crazy idea that it's the one who keep away from them that will report them to the police but I smarter than that
Yes I have had nothing to do with them, but little do they know that I am the least likely to bring fear to myself and family 24 seven as drug people could be vicious it's their livelihood at stake, it's like taking a dog only bone.
I am appalled that they could not work out who was most likely
Why would I make such a statement, nothing is coming from me
I am sure there are people for that even amongst them
They are always sending people to slam and bang up my door as they hear voices they run away real fast, now this one is my business as its my door
I could see them choking each other for my path alone and I still don't see. I don't mess with people so. Prepare to die if you do.

For over a year one of the residents here was, and was allowing his associates, dealing drugs from his flat. They became so blatant they were even doing it from the bedroom window (ground floor residence).

The police visit this place an avergage of twice a week, and are fully aware of the situation. It seems they prefer to monitor it (for investigative purposes of some sort, I imagine) than actually deal with it. Meanwhile the few here who want some form of peaceful, considerate, tolerable life have to suffer the intimidating behaviour, physical assualt, and general unpleasantry of a drug den.

As the police are aware (they have been contacted, and spoken with at length), and the housing assoication must be aware. what's left other than despairing acceptance that living here is more suffered existence, than a sense of home and security?

I have several "public houses" near me selling a drug called alchohol. The people come out stoned, fighting and causing criminal damage, shouting and making the neighbourhood a misery. The police are always in and out but nothing is ever done to stop the drug being sold.
disgusted in NM 05/05/2015 at 11:17 pm
I live in Clovis NM, and all the neighborhood I live in we all suspect drug activity at one resident. expensive cars and constant comings and goings of all sorts of vehicles, day or night. I have collected license plates etc, Constant partying and one of the partyers attempted break in to my house 2 times. The police were called both times and one time there was even a supposedly arrest because the suspect had a warrant out for him.We were told by one of the people at that residence that to call the cops all we want because they are friends and the cops will not do anything!!. Most of the police reports have disappeared. This police dept. is corrupt. I have witnessed police coming on a call, and all of a sudden people came out of that house like swarms of bees and left while the policeman sat down the street with his lights on. and as he approached he kept flashing his lights. Several neighbors have witnessed this!!. It is to the point that I guess we sit back and put up with this crap. I was also informed that several policemen in Clovis party with this bunch and the inject the drugs between the toes. Why should we allow this to happen and whom can we call for help. Children as well as others should not have to put up with this.

Take solace in the fact that drug scumbags who make people's lives miserable will rot in everlasting torment. Every bad thing they've done will come back 1,000 times against them.

They will never achieve anything significant, noteworthy, or remarkable in this life. They are worthless, their families are a disgrace, and may all manners of evil and bad fortune befall on them for the evil they've done.

Start saving up your money and move elsewhere where better quality human beings live. Love God, live life. :-)

@Rose. The police are usually very good at keeping people anonymous in these cases. They will most likely just act on your tip off and gather their own evidence rather than requiring you/your evidence to be used in court.
rose 12/01/2015 at 10:11 am
I personally know a horrible cocaine dealer who circulates the pubs in my area (one of which I was the landlady of) who happily gets 14 year olds in debt as well as threatening kids and adults alike, I would love to report him and could give the police more than enough information for them to catch the scum bag red handed, however my concern is 'will the information that I give the police be revealed in court' As he would pretty much know it was me that gave the information, as I was the only local landlady to bar him from our premises, all the others see him as part of business.

@YoureAllScaredAndCra - It's not legal here in the UK.
YoureAllScaredAndCra 17/10/2014 at 4:04 pm
Holy crap! To be perfectly honest, I thought people like you posters were only fictional characters to have a laugh about in movies. Not all of you, but a good portion, are so scared and ignorant to what's going on it makes you seem like a old paranoid neighbour who over analyzes actions of people who are ACTUALLY living their lives. Just like a few other people have already said, if it's not directly putting you or people you care about in physical danger, then mind your own business. I'm extremely protective over any of my friends, family, and other people and am completely in agreeance with keeping your neighborhoods safe. But the things most you are talking about have nothing to do with safety. You should only call the police if:1.) The obvious, it's an emergency where someone is physically injured or mentally usntable and dangeruously unpredictable to harm themselves or others around them.2.) If you see an act of violence.3.) If people are 'casing' your house (trying to remain unseen while observing houses in a neighborhood to look for patterns of a residents occupants intending to rob a house).4.) Any other suspicious activity that may be violent or put others at risk. There's is absolutely no reason for you to care about people smoking marijuana/weed. Most likely it's going to be legal in most states by 2020. It's the equivalent of someone having a drink and should be treated as so. Example: if your neighbour comes home and has a drink after work to relax or even has a couple friends over for some drinks it's not a big deal, same goes for marijuana. However if they are out in the front lawn with a 4 foot bong blaring music offering strangers some then it should be treated as a someone doing kegstands in their front lawn :). Tell them to stop and if they don't then call the cops. On the otherhand if your neighbors are into hard drugs and bring crackheads into the neighborhood and you feel like they are going to rob you or others or be violent then it's definitely okay to call the police. But the ones who are hard to tell because they are dressed nice and in nice cars and are, in my view' "Professional Supply/Demand Entrapeneurs" and keep their business private/quiet and/or away from the neighborhood then don't be THAT person in the neighborhood that everyone makes fun of for knowing all the "neighborhood gossip" and wants attention or whatever gets you off, that person who unneccesarily calls the police repeatedly. You never know, if you make too many false complaints then something really might put you an emergency situation and the cops will see who it is and take their sweet time to get there because they know it's gong to be nothing, AGAIN. So, moral of the story, violence or excessive partying= OK to call policeNormal people who you don't know what they do for work, seem to not work, or do deal drugs but aren't actively and agressively trying to harm you and others= don't call the police. Look in t

Our experience in our area of a drug dealer was, when informing the police - they refused to do anything about it. The reason is it turned out is that the police have targets that they need to arrest. It is easier to sit outside a dealers property and round up users than to arrest the dealers. The other possibility is that the dealers are paying off the police. After months of the local Community Watch hassling the police they reacted with an email to the local police chief saying that if nothing was done by the weekend we would be taking pictures of the police who sit along the road and arrest the users but do nothing about the dealers, and putting the photos on the Internet with our comments.
48 hours later the police kicked in every door and window in the house and arrested the dealer. Problem solved. House sold to a respectable family.
Some people have sen 16/09/2014 at 10:28 pm
Matt can you understand or you are to angry to understand or feel anything
Read some people here do mind their own business and ask other posters to do that
They advice them how to live like try to help them, they say try our way, there are other ways
If they hears by the grapevine things and some perhaps may observe things
But will never tell the authorities unless it is to do directly with them
Example : If someone is fighting it is not directly to do with you
But there are some people who get deeply involve in things not directly to do with them
And because they are like that their thinking is everyone is like them
And nobody can't tell them no.
The only person who knows the truth of who does report is the police
So no point guessing because a person do not meddle with you
It ain't got to be them. look at Berry and juliette and read and learn and some others look at their advice.
Whilst they will not go out the way to befriend these folks, they are telling you they do not business what they do.
This does not mean however these folks will not go out of their way to trouble them if they also trouble people
They may have the spirit of evil with them daily
Or someone telling them to.

Drug dealer does not always mean they harass people.
Some will and some won't.

Just watch them and wish them well.
My Grass up World 16/09/2014 at 7:21 pm
Anno the police is right to ignore you, because people like you want to report and others who do not give a f about others so lives gets the blame for the report
Reporting for flooding and noise is things that affect posters directly
None of you claim to buy or sell so why involve in reporting such crap if you not involved
Who involve in drugs and who don't involve in drugs is not my fight
They can go their own way for my path alone until somebody else reports them
But sure ain't me.
Obviously most here don't think like me
That's why?
Lets go and Bang low 16/09/2014 at 5:15 pm
Well poster Revenge he sure is bringing you down with the banging
Forget about giving him dirty looks
Why would you react to a person like that on the streets?
There was a boy that look at me and spat
But he was nothing to look at in my opinion
I did the same but just this once
Thank god you don't have friends like these
As friends they will get you in trouble like in jail
As enemies they won't leave you alone
Look like the devil troubling us
These are the devilI mean the ones troubling our souls
Do not say the prayer make my enemies my footstool
As you want them to stay as far away from you as possible
They have shown themselves to be satan
Stay out of their drug business you are not a police or police Informer
Only act if they bring their drugs and troubles directly to you
But act with a limit, like dont bang each time they bang.
And if you can ignore it, ignore it for as long as you can
Watch a movie, play your music if you can do not focus entirely on them
Make them who behaves so look foolish as they are.
Don't encourage banging.
It's their confusion not yours if you minding your own business you won't hear the banging all the time.
If they woke you up, move to another part of the building and take one of my good advise above(music, or movie, etc)
Hear the banging only if you want to hear it, if you know what I mean.

Revenge enjoy reading and remember treat people same way you and your family will like to be treated

If you have the time to cross on the other side of the street do it if you see them
Do not confront these people avoid it at all cost
Be mature.
Read and learn 16/09/2014 at 4:50 pm
Sorry
: this was for (not from) anyone thinking of reporting him do you want to challenge people with behaviour so for real?
If they are doing things like biting your finger or crazy things non stop
Read and learn 16/09/2014 at 4:45 pm
So he bit your finger.? But you admitted what you did
Maybe you should not interfere unless he offers you or your family directly
Don't you think it might be better if you just leave them alone?
Do they harass those who leave then alone to?
It will be interesting to know?
If they do harass those who leave them alone
Then they might have mental issues
That causes them to take on who leaves them alone
Very soon they will harass the right person if its mental
There is nothing you can do
Can you move home?
St least he knows it's you
According to what you wrote(fair)
If he don't its a warning to stay far from him
From anyone thinking of reporting him
Do you want to put up with this? Watch the behaviour described
Does anyone of you here want to put up with this!

So it's best not to interfere if you don't have real cause to interfere
Stay away from them people so.
The devil have their friends.
fool blame the right 16/09/2014 at 4:24 pm
The question is what to do
I can't tell you what to do as each individual is different
I could tell you what I will do
I will never report it to the authorities if its not to do with me
So this is ruled out.
And why should I
Sometimes for you people it may not be a just a matter of reporting if it end up in court
You may be shown
If you report them that mean you don't mind if they know it's you
Because it's not fair for somebody else to get the blame, whoever does it

I had a neighbour who suspected everyone of taking drugs
And she used to talk so loud
I knew she was a liar because I have never took or deal in drugs

As gossip flying all around its good to listen but not to report why should you if it's nothing to do with you.

Be smart upstairs.
And just Thank God it's not you and you are not in their position if you are not.
There are people well equipped to deal with things so and it sure aint you, it's their job not yours.
You may report and an innocent one who are smart not to report may get the blame
I feel some of you may get looked at funny for reporting
I may be wrong, but I have this feeling based on how I think and I like this feeling. I will hold on to it. Hearing something and doing something is two different things.
Juliette 26/08/2014 at 12:03 pm
Seems like someone has reported one of the little drug dealer in my neighbourhood and perhaps told him its me as the family do not get on, but this is something as God above me I will never ever do

I remember one of their associates telling me quite a while back I should report him and what he is involved in, I was quite angry inside when she suggested that to me as I am not the kind of neighbour to go to the police about something like that
They became very angry and started to get people to follow me pretending I was up to no good and they were the good loving ones, I heard everything they had said before and will always see them as the real traitors , but to report them noway, I think the friend of theirs who told me to report them was out of order, and they are all screw up each other thought I was the same

It's a police matter, not a matter for me to handle in no way shape or form,
Berry the poster is right, I did not get involved and faced the consequences with the family
It did not have what they did not do against us.

If they told them neighbours it surely would not have been us
Maybe they are confused, their ends results shows they are a confused family
When they used to speak to me before I heard what they said, I understand they always back down pretending is someone else said it or done it

I am surely not in their drug category. I do not buy or sell or take and I do not report to police or housing. As God Above me, all their revenge will return to them one day

Have been suffering antisocial benaviour for 2 yrs now,Installed camera and have footage of culprit breaking bail, also constant drug trafficking that goes on.Made this known to appropriate bodies, not one even asked to see it.Only 2 weeks ago was accosted by this inbred was assaulted and he bit my finger.I attended hospital for tetanus jab. He was charged with assault I BELIEVE, Police do not contact you to tell you this. He is living directly above. Last week he flooded my living room. Council say his freezer defrosted.absolute rubbish. Have been constantly complaining to local police, even in emergency they took 40 mins to arrive, although vehicles are in the area.Have constantly been complaining to local housing (council house)They say its a police matter.Police say its a council matter,Have contacted Antisocial team,They say its a police matter. These poeple carry job titles, they they are a highly paid theatrical group, who can do nothing to assist the issues we are experiencing daily and nightly.Had meeting with local M.P. last week.
She will write a letter in support of the problems i am experiencing.Did pick up through conversation with her ,that she is quite oblivious to the actual realities of living within a local authority housing estate and the support that is most definately not given to innocent tenants when suffering at the hands of these misfits of normal society.Oh and the law actually safeguards the perpetraitors, letting them continue with the harassment. If there services and pay were based on input and achievement they would not have a pot to piss in,and would most probably starve.Maybe not a bad thing, they are merely a burden of the public purse.

One of my neighbors has started smoking very strong-smelling weed lately, and I'm honestly not sure whether to report it or not. The smell is often overpowering, and I've had to keep my bedroom window closed in near-30-degree heat due to it (the moment the smell gets inside the house, it lingers for ages). It's beyond a nuisance, and I just wish they'd stop, or at least smoke where the smell wouldn't reach my house!

Try living next door to my neighbour! He is a known drug dealer from a big drugs gang, he's been in prison for it before! He beats up his dog and he beats up his girlfriend.. They keep me up at night rowing and fighting, his 5yr old daughter sees all this and he even tells his daughter that his girlfriend deserved a smack as she's a waste of space... My three young daughters have to hear all this and I can't do anything about it!

Im going to give you all some honest advice if your local drug dealer is not bothering you or causing problems that personally affect you then leave it and mind your own business like a previous poster said. If someone is involved in a trade that may be illegal who cares? what is it to do with you? following the advice in this guide basically is suggesting that you should report drug dealers who are smart well dressed and have numerous luxury cars. Well if you report one of them kind of drug dealers your asking for you and your family to be seriously injured or killed. It should be pretty obvious that someone that high into the drugs trade is going to have a serious influence on a lot of things including possibly the local police department. Unfortunately the police have proven to not protect people that give this kind of information to them so in my humble opinion is it really worth it? and before anyone says no im not a drug dealer just a graduate with a education.

I am wrestling with my conscience my ex daughter in law is a heavy coke n cannabis user. Her new bf is a wellknown dealer. He is on probation for a racist attack. T police saw some of t stuff they use for drugs when arresting him for his attack on an elderly asian man. They did nothin about drugs. I want to report t drug dealing n drugs to police and ss but from what I c they r a waste of time n only the innocent suffer.
My granddaughter is 5 yrs old. It's making me ill she also has a 13yr old son who soils himself, and is failing at school in and out of trouble its heartbreaking cos he is a lovely polite young man but is neglected.
Revenge2013 17/11/2013 at 12:13 am
One of my neighbours has a foul mouth, plays loud music even when he's on his own, makes a lot of noise at all hours of the day and night and the smell of his drugs drifts into my property. He's known to the police. A complaint to his landlord only made things worse so I decided to deal with it myself. When he played music, I would play classical music at full blast. If he made noise, I would bang on the ceiling until he stops. When I see him in the street, I would give him threatening looks. His behaviour has improved. Case closed.

For those complaining about neighbours 'who don't work and have nice cars': Focus on what your neighbour is doing that affects *your* life. The rest is no concern of yours.
matt_a 08/11/2013 at 11:53 am
You should all mind your own businesses, most of these 'drug dealers: described may have perfectly good reasons for alot of these claims. The fear of drugs and drug dealers in their various forms seems to be more of an issue here than any actual illegal activity. Calling someone 'scum' is not condusive of a society anyone should want to be part of and 'love Thy neighbour' ring any bells?? People visiting a property is everybodies right, not grounds for suspicion. Shame on you Jeff Durham for spreading fear and misinformation.

Ive decided in my situation to keep the pressure up- keep on at the police until its sorted. Best wishes to you for a future peaceful existance.

I live next door to a set of parents who are harbouring their 27 year old heroin addict son. As soon as the parents leave for work, their jobless son plays 'music' so loud, my wife and I can hear it in every single room of our four bedroom house. We also have a daughter who works from home, and she has had to call the police countless times when she can hear this drug addict beating up his, wait for it, fellow drug user girlfriend. Despite the police maintaining that the call would be anonymous, as soon as they left, this 27 year old man charged round to our house hurling abuse through the letter box to our young daughter. Not only this, but we own a small dog who has been attacked by this drug addict's violent pitbull who broke into our garden. How much more of this can we take? Why is there no one out there that can help us? We live in fear, and will probably have to move even though we have lived in this area much longer than them. The parents although they have never been friendly towards us, are not the problem as far as the disruption is concerned. They have respectable jobs, tend to their garden, and never make noise. But what irritates the hell out of me, is WHY just WHY would they put up with this? Once every two months, there will be an epic row, both parents demanding he moves out, however he never does. And then it begins all over again.

The same day I was working outside dealer was having a fight with girlfriend, saw me and said he would smash my head I laughed and carried on working , what a life that girl has, there's also another dealer in the house(two couples) who was doing the same to his girlfriend, i hope these 'men' have a horrible death and give the women peace.

Why should decent people have to move because scum moves into the area.

Lolz the cops dont want to know.nor the council nor the mp's ,everyone and all the local authorites in my area know the guy I live next door is a dealer ,he has been raided more times than I care to mention ,stabbed and robbed ,been in prision for dealing and still he's living there ,its a joke ,anyone in the same situation, my advice is keep your mouth shut and just move ,its not worth the hassle I know how this sounds but after 4-5yrs of it and knowing nothings going to change I know its the only option.

cynlynn, mafia?? Are you 'avin a laugh? They wouldn't be living near you if they were in any way involved in 'the mafia'.

I have been living next door to a very arrogant family my whole life. The man's name is John and people around my area know that he is in the mafia. He is very rude, does not work, owns five cars, and spends all day outside blasting his radio. Is there anything I can do about this?

My neighbours. Both of them dont work they have two new nice cars which they keep changing. They go in and out all day, sometime they come in for 5 mins then they out again, not together they both do this. It could be five to six times in an hour, they only out 5mins then there back, it goes on like this all day.

Are they up to no good, they have three children and both of them are out of work, am I just worrying about nothing.
